Trial against Spanish communist Ana Hurtado for defamation against Cuban doctor is ready for sentencing.

The civil trial against Ana Hurtado for defaming a Cuban doctor was ready for sentencing after being held in Albacete.

The civil defamation lawsuit filed by the Cuban doctor Lucio Enríquez Nodarse, residing in Spain, against the Spanish communist Ana Hurtado Martínez, was ready for sentencing on October 1 in the courts of Albacete.

It took place with the presence of lawyers from both parties. As Lucio explained, Ana Hurtado was not present. Her representative declared her "guilty" and accepted the defamation accusations against her, although he argued that her statements against Lucio were protected by her right to freedom of speech.

Lucio, known for his strong stance in defense of human rights in Cuba, expressed on the social network X his satisfaction after the celebration of the trial.

"What you asked for so much, Anita, I granted you. Your best birthday gift. This is for me and for all the Cubans you have defamed and mocked. God has to give us this victory!", said the Cuban doctor in Spain.

The witnesses presented at the trial were Havana de la Torre and Brian Infante, both Cuban activists, who reinforced Lucio's defense arguments.

"We left satisfied. All the statements have been clear. It's a trial we can win, but the final word will be with the judge," Lucio stated at the end of the hearing.

The doctor and activist also emphasized that this legal process not only has a personal nature but represents the struggle of all Cubans who have felt attacked by the words and actions of Ana Hurtado on social media.

This case has gained notoriety due to the controversial statements of Hurtado, a defender of the Cuban regime, who has made multiple posts in support of the revolution and its leaders.

During a long visit to Cuba, the Spanish woman recently shared on her Facebook profile her experience visiting the Capitol of Havana.

"Today I had the immense honor of visiting the Capitolio in Havana and even going up to its dome. A few centimeters taller than the one in Washington DC. This people and their patriotic symbols are indescribable. I can only be grateful to be a Spaniard who has her heart in Cuba, in its people, in its leaders, in Fidel," she wrote, reflecting her close connection with the island and its leaders.

The judicial process has sparked great interest among the Cuban community in exile, especially among those who oppose the regime and see Ana Hurtado as a defender of the system that has caused suffering to many on the island.

The final ruling, still pending, could set an important precedent in the handling of defamation cases related to the defense of the Cuban regime abroad.

This trial is just another chapter in the long list of controversies surrounding Ana Hurtado, who has been criticized for her defense of the regime and her constant attacks on Cuban opponents and activists.

The case was admitted for processing last May, when the Spanish justice system accepted the civil complaint filed by Lucio Enríquez against Ana Hurtado. Since then, media attention has focused on this legal battle, which will culminate with the judge's decision in the coming weeks.
