Miami Dade College ranks among the top five public universities in the U.S.

The prestigious 2025 ranking by U.S. News & World Report placed MDC in fourth place, the highest ranking the center has achieved in its history.

Miami Dade College (MDC), the university with the highest number of students in the United States, has been recognized as one of the five best public universities in the country, according to the prestigious 2025 ranking by U.S. News & World Report.

This ranking, in which the MDC is in fourth place, is the highest that the center has achieved in its history.

Madeline Pumariega, president of MDC, expressed in a statement that this recognition "is a true honor" and reflects the institution's commitment to academic excellence.

Additionally, he highlighted the work of the teaching and administrative staff, whose dedication enables students to achieve their goals. This recognition adds to other distinctions, such as sixth place in the category of Best Universities for Veterans and twelfth place in Educational Value in the southern region of the U.S.

The ranking of Best Public Universities was led by Florida Polytechnic University, followed by the University of South Carolina, while the third position was held by Lander University, also from South Carolina. The University of Arkansas took fifth place.

Founded in 1960, MDC has been a key player in the education of more than 2.5 million students. With a student body representing 167 nations and speaking 63 languages, MDC is distinguished by its diversity. Among its previous achievements is the 2019 Aspen Prize for College Excellence and the 2021 Seal of Excellence, for its commitment to the Latino community.

With more than 125,000 students currently enrolled, MDC continues to establish itself as a benchmark in American higher education.
