Maykel Castillo on El Taiger: "Artists need to be cared for."

The rapper said he had no words to describe "the barbarity" against El Taiger.

The Cuban rapper and political prisoner Maykel "Osorbo" Castillo sent a message of solidarity to reggaeton artist El Taiger, who is fighting for his life after an attempted murder against him: "Artists need to be protected," he expressed.

In a telephone conversation with fellow rapper El Funky, the prisoner stated that he had no "words to describe this barbarity."

"Even if there are personal problems, or whatever, I know that no one deserves this, and especially not a Cuban artist," emphasized Maykel Osorbo.

"Artists must be cared for, Taiger must be cared for," Osorbo reiterated in his message, who has been imprisoned in a Cuban jail since May 2021.

The reggaeton artist, one of the most important in Cuba, was found on Thursday in the trunk of a truck with a gunshot wound to the forehead.

He is currently in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, with severe brain damage and an uncertain prognosis.

The attack against El Taiger has also ignited social media, where his followers, as well as other artists in the music scene, have expressed their shock and solidarity. Support messages have come in from various parts of the world, with the hashtag #FuerzaTaiger becoming a trend.

For the moment, investigations are still ongoing, and it is expected that more details will be provided in the coming days about the artist's health status and the progress in identifying those responsible for this incident.
