Some areas of Hialeah are already flooded, and Hurricane Milton has not yet reached Florida.

Flooding is one of the main concerns of many residents in South Florida.

The torrential rain bands that are expected to arrive in the southern portion of Florida have not yet reached the area, and already some rain from this Monday has flooded certain areas of Hialeah, specifically the Holiday Acres trailer park located at 14th Avenue and 25th Street in the west side of the city.

The situation that may arise after Milton is expected to make landfall on Wednesday afternoon or evening worries the residents in that area who, although they experience recurring floods, always fear the worst.

In statements to journalist Rolando Nápoles for America Tevé, one of the residents in the area said that he will have to end up buying a boat because he claims that even a raft will not solve his problems.

Another neighbor confirmed that just with a "little rain" the area gets flooded, so they are worried about what will happen in the coming hours.

It is forecasted that the bands of torrential rains associated with Milton - which is now a Category 4 hurricane - will begin to impact starting this Tuesday afternoon.

A surveillance alert for flooding is in effect until Thursday, and the authorities of Miami-Dade County have urged residents to be prepared.

The National Hurricane Center issued a tropical storm warning on Tuesday morning for Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.

However, it is in central Florida where the most catastrophic impact of Hurricane Milton is expected, which this morning was a powerful Category 4 with maximum sustained winds of 145 miles per hour.
