The funeral of El Taiger this Saturday at the Church of San Lázaro in Miami was held with an open casket, a decision made by the family that puts an end to the speculation that has flooded social media since the reggaeton artist's death on October 10.
After the private mass attended by the artist's closest friends and family, a ceremony was held with the body present, during which the coffin was opened and everyone who came to the church was allowed to pay their respects to the casket displaying the singer's face.
Outside the church, Teresa Padrón, manager of the late artist, addressed the gathered crowd, urging them to behave appropriately and "listen to the police."
Regarding the decision to leave the coffin open, he said in front of everyone gathered: "I didn't want them to see him looking bad, but thank God the funeral home was able to reconstruct him quite well, and that's why it was allowed to be open. But let it be clear that was the family's decision. They made that choice for their fans and their community. The only thing I ask, out of respect for the church, is that please don't create any disturbances."
The journalist Leonel Allegues posted on his TikTok account: "You can see El Taiger's body in a coffin with the initials LBMA. It's a gray coffin, he looks well-dressed, and he also appears somewhat pale, seeming to have lost some weight; that's the impression I have (...) He hasn't been cremated; his body is there."
Despite the security measures and protocols implemented to enter the church, which prohibited phones, photos, and videos, some individuals did not comply, leading the police to expel them from the premises.
Fans attending the funeral and online users on social media criticized these actions, labeling them as disrespectful to the family and loved ones.
