Many wonder who this man is that appears in all the music videos of Oniel Bebeshito and Charly & Johayron, usually accompanied by models.
Our newsroom has received the question on several occasions, which is why we have taken on the task of investigating Roberto Ferrante, the name that appears over and over again in the main hits of the Cuban urban genre.
Roberto Ferrante, an Italian businessman and music producer, is the founder and CEO of the record label Planet Records.
Before his career as a producer took off, Ferrante studied drums and piano at the conservatory in Naples, and by the late seventies, he was playing in youth bands focused on electronic music.
In 1998, Planet Records was established as an independent record label aimed at introducing new talents to the music world and revitalizing the work of already established artists. From 2004 onwards, it focused on Latin music from countries such as Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico.
Recognized Cuban and international groups and soloists have signed with Ferrante's record label at some point in their career such as Los Van Van, La Charanga Habanera, Los 4, Gente de Zona, Baby Lores, Jacob Forever, Osmani García, Maykel Blanco, Issac Delgado, Manolito Simonet, Aventura, Prince Royce, Nicky Jam, Luis Enrique, and others.
In the last two years, Roberto Ferrante and Planet Records Cuba/Miami have been behind the career and success of the new exponents of Cuban reggaeton and urban music.
In addition to Oniel Bebeshito and Charly & Johayron, the long list of their artists includes Ja Rulay, Fixty Ordara, Wow Popy, Divan, Orlenis 22k, Were, Baby Cortés, and other young local artists.
Ferrante has not only taken many of these artists to the height of popularity in Cuba and Miami and introduced them to the world, but he has also won as a music producer 40 platinum records and 43 gold records, along with several nominations for the Latin Grammy Awards and Billboard.
Whether from Havana, Miami, Naples, or any city in the Caribbean, Roberto Ferrante is present in every videoclip of Planet Records.
