The renowned Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz has released his new single titled "Palmeras en el jardín," a nostalgic ballad that has evoked emotions among his fans due to its lyrics filled with romance and melancholy.

The song has generated a plethora of comments and speculations among Sanz's followers, who have linked the composition to his ex-partner, the Cuban visual artist Rachel Valdés.

In the lyrics of the song, Alejandro Sanz includes lines that have been interpreted as a direct reference to his relationship with Valdés, with whom he shared more than three years of life together.

Fragments like: "I turned my world upside down / So that it would resemble you / But no matter how many palm trees we plant in the garden / This will never be Havana, I will always be Madrid" have awakened nostalgia among its followers, who recognize in these lines a metaphor for the cultural differences and distances in the couple.

Another verse that has touched the emotional fiber of its fans is the one that says: "In two accents we said a thousand ‘I love yous’ / And in a silence we said ‘Up to here.’" This fragment seems to allude to the shared moments between the couple, marked by the contrast of their respective cultures, Spain and Cuba.

In addition, the song includes a verse that mentions: "Later, you left Varadero in my soul / And the Cibeles asked me about you / You know, life, that I die for your things / But you will always be Havana / And I will always be Madrid." These words have been interpreted as a poetic acknowledgment of Rachel Valdés' roots and the symbolic permanence of her relationship in the singer's soul.

Alejandro Sanz and Rachel Valdés made their relationship public in 2019, and since then they have shown great closeness at various events and in shared moments on social media. However, in 2023 the couple ended their relationship, a news that surprised their followers.

The newspaper El Mundo reported that the couple split after enduring a very strong emotional crisis for several months, and it was precisely he who decided to end it.

"Palmeras en el jardín" has been released on all digital platforms of the famous Spanish star and also features a music video produced by the renowned Puerto Rican artist Residente.

The collaboration between Sanz and Residente has generated even more expectations among the singer's followers, who have praised both the audiovisual production and the emotional intensity of the song.

So far, neither Alejandro Sanz nor Rachel Valdés have confirmed whether the song is directly inspired by their relationship, but the public has been able to find an intimate connection in the verses with their story.

With this new single, Sanz continues to demonstrate his ability to reflect his personal experiences in his songs, solidifying his position as one of the most iconic and beloved artists in Spanish music.
