The renowned Cuban actress Diana Rosa Suárez has been discharged from the hospital after suffering a heart attack in Guyana at the end of September.
The news was confirmed by Carlos Lino Castellón Brito, the administrator of the Facebook group "Unforgettable Cuban Actors."
On Saturday, September 28, Diana Rosa experienced severe chest pain in Havana and was taken to the Institute of Cardiology hospital, where doctors identified the problem and recommended hospitalization. Julita Osendi, a sports journalist and friend of the actress, clarified that the actress declined the hospitalization due to her flight to Guyana.
The actress later traveled to the South American country to have a visa appointment at the United States Embassy. It was there that doctors confirmed that, in addition to the recent heart attack, Suárez had experienced a similar cardiac episode three months earlier. For this reason, she was advised to rest completely for a month.
The Cuban Embassy in Guyana reported that the actress was transferred to the public hospital in Georgetown, where she received a visit from the Cuban ambassador, who assured that her health status would be monitored by that institution.
Diana Rosa Suárez, known for her iconic roles as “The Fox's Bride” and other memorable characters, was in Guyana to attend an appointment at the United States embassy in order to process a visa that would allow her to reunite with her grandchildren and nieces abroad.
