Content creator Kamilo Penin, known on TikTok for his advice and assistance to those seeking employment in the U.S., revealed online how much a construction worker earns in the country.
With over 670,000 followers, Kamilo has managed to connect particularly with the Latin community, including recently arrived Cubans, to whom he shares practical information about wages, job types, and the cost of living in the United States.
In one of his videos, @kamilopenin clarified that salaries in construction can vary significantly based on the worker's experience and specialty. He added that a laborer with no experience is usually the one earning the least, while those with skills in areas like plumbing, electrical work, drywall, or operating heavy equipment can achieve better earnings. He also mentions that salary depends on the state and the type of employer: “If you work with Americans, they tend to pay a bit better; Hispanics pay a bit less,” he comments.
Kamilo states that the average salary in construction in the United States is around $35 per hour, although this figure can vary significantly depending on the location. “That would be roughly the average salary for construction workers today in the United States,” he says in the video, emphasizing that employees in companies offering benefits or those who belong to a union can earn more.
With this type of content, Penin not only informs but also continues his mission of helping his followers better understand the job landscape in the U.S. In previous videos, he has shared job announcements he finds both on the street and online, and he has provided advice on how to tackle the challenges of living and working in this country, especially for Cubans newly integrating into American society.
