The Cuban reggaeton scene is embroiled in a new controversy among artists! This time, it involves the artists Kimiko, Yordi, and Oniel Bebeshito, who have coincidentally scheduled their concerts in Miami for December 28th.
Bebeshito, who recently announced his debut in the United States for December 28, chose the same date that Kimiko and Yordi had already planned for a performance in the city. This has sparked speculation and a confrontation that fans of the Cuban urban genre have not overlooked.
In light of Bebeshito's announcement, Kimiko (also known as L Kimii) has not remained silent and has sent a message to the interpreter of "Marca Mandarina."
"It was better to start here," Kimiko indicated in her message, referring to the lack of communication from Bebeshito before confirming his event. According to the artist, his own team made an effort to coordinate a date that would not conflict with other end-of-year events, but this "written coincidence" undermined that intention.
Despite the critical tone, Kimiko continued to wish Bebeshito success in his debut, emphasizing that everyone has the chance to “make history in Cuban music.” Her message, which concludes with the phrase “long live Cuban music,” highlights the importance of unity and respect in Cuban reggaeton, even though such situations reveal the growing rivalries among artists in the genre.
Kimiko, one of the established names in the island's reggaeton scene, made it clear that throughout her career she has never sought out these kinds of conflicts, underscoring her seriousness and leadership in the movement.
Accompanying these words, Kimiko published a video of an interview in which Bebeshito discussed a concert by the duo that had no attendees. Kimiko refuted this claim by posting images from the concert and messages highlighting its success.
