Cuban authorities issued a call for accident prevention on the roads during the recovery phase following Hurricane Rafael's passage through several western provinces of the country.
The call was shared by Transportation Minister Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, who emphasized the attention of "vehicle drivers and other road users."
“We have not lost lives as a result of the hurricane. Let’s not lose any due to traffic accidents that can be avoided with greater precautions,” wrote the official.
Images of the meteor's impact are beginning to circulate on social media, revealing significant damage in Artemisa, Mayabeque, and Havana.
The Facebook page "Naturaleza Secreta" highlighted the work of a micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (Mipyme) in cleaning several avenues in the capital.
The business named TRANSCONS BUENFIL S.U.R.L is engaged in the collection of waste and fallen trees along Vía Blanca, from Lacret Street to Fábrica Street, with the support of its workers and equipment. Vía Blanca is a significant artery in Havana, the profile noted.
Hurricane Rafael has left a trail of significant damage in Cuba, particularly impacting the road, electrical, and communication infrastructure in various provinces.
Intense rains and winds caused flooding in urban and rural areas, as well as the collapse of structures and the blockage of roads due to fallen trees and debris.
