"Not all the water has been drained yet, and there are fallen electricity poles on the road," the media outlet confirmed.

They also report that "the channels overflowed and covered the entire road due to the sea's incursion. According to residents and the evidence seen in the markings on the houses, the water rose about two meters."

Hurricane Rafael made landfall at Playa Majana, south of Artemisa, as a Category 3 storm on Wednesday, November 6, and its winds downgraded to 175 km/h, a Category 2.

During its passage through Cuban territory, it caused significant damage to housing infrastructure, agriculture, and electrical and telephone lines.

As it passed through the province of Artemisa, Rafael also caused significant damage to several hospitals in this western region.

The hurricane left Cuba as a Category 2 storm around 7:00 PM on Wednesday, passing through Cabañas Bay in Artemisa.
