Teresa Padrón, manager of the late Cuban reggaeton artist El Taiger, urged artists to support the petition for signatures launched to demand that the Miami-Dade prosecutor's office charge Damián Valdez-Galloso with first-degree murder.

In one of her Instagram stories, Teresa wrote: “Today I want to ask all artists to please join me and support me in gathering signatures for the petition for the justice that José deserves.”

"I ask you to share the link in your stories if possible; we need everyone's support for this. I call for unity in the name of God and for José," he adds in the text.

The petition created on Friday calls on authorities to charge Damián Valdez with first-degree murder. So far, the person responsible for El Taiger's death is facing a second-degree murder charge, an accusation that, according to the text of the petition, "does not fully reflect the seriousness and intent of this crime. This classification minimizes the loss experienced by the family, friends, and community of José Manuel Carvajal."

Many Cubans in Miami have joined her to demand justice for the Cuban reggaeton artist, and the petition has already gathered over 24,000 signatures.

Damián Valdez's next court hearing will be on November 22, and Teresa expressed her frustration over the possibility that the defendant might plead guilty in order to reduce the sentence against him.
