Teresa Padrón, businesswoman and representative of Cuban reggaeton artist El Taiger, shared her thoughts following the absence of Damián Valdez Galloso at his court hearing in Miami-Dade. Valdez Galloso, identified as the suspected perpetrator of the popular artist's murder, faces serious charges, including second-degree murder, tampering with evidence, and possession of a firearm.
In an interview with Univisión, Padrón stated that he believes it is likely Valdez Galloso will accept a plea deal to avoid a full trial, given the public pressure and the seriousness of the charges.
His statement came after Valdez Galloso chose not to appear in court for a bail review related to a previous charge of sexual abuse and violation of sex offender registration requirements.
During his first court appearance, Judge Mindy S. Glazer denied bail to Valdez Galloso, questioning the prosecution's decision to file charges of second-degree murder instead of first-degree murder, considering that the evidence might suggest greater premeditation.
Valdez Galloso's next court appearance is scheduled for November 22, when the murder charges and other relevant details of the case will be reviewed.
Padrón remarked, "I can understand why he doesn't want to show his face, because he knows that everyone is watching him and demanding answers," highlighting the impact this case has had on the Miami community.
Fans of El Taiger and the Cuban community in the city are closely following the legal developments, hoping for justice for the reggaeton artist. The case has garnered significant media attention and is a topic of widespread interest in Miami, where El Taiger enjoyed great popularity.
