The earthquakes that shook eastern Cuba, with the province of Granma being the most affected, have left shocking images of an unexpected event for the Cuban people.
From several municipalities in Granma, located on the southern coast of the province (Pilón, Campechuela, Media, Niquero), distressing images are emerging, where destruction and fear have taken over the streets of these towns.
The Secretary of the Communist Party in Granma, Yudelkis Ortiz, reported on the Midday News that the two earthquakes were felt in all municipalities.
He also stated that in Bartolomé Masó, Buey Arriba, Guisa, Pilón, Jiguaní, Media Luna, and Campechuela, measures are being taken in response to the occurrence of landslides caused by the aftershocks of these earthquakes.
Additionally, reports indicate the collapse of electrical posts in Pilón, Niquero, Media Luna, Campechuela, and Bartolomé Masó.
The authorities have not reported any injuries or fatalities at this time.
