Russia denied on Monday that Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump spoke by phone on November 7 after the Republican's decisive victory in the elections on the 5th.

At a press conference, Dmitri Peskov, spokesman for the Russian Presidency, denied an exclusive report published this Sunday in The Washington Post, which stated that Trump has already spoken with Putin and advised him against escalating the war in Ukraine.

"There was no such conversation," said the Kremlin spokesperson in response to the journalists' insistence. However, the exclusive from The Washington Post suggests that Trump may have warned Putin about the significant presence of U.S. troops in Europe and raised the need to monitor the developments of the war with the aim of ending it as soon as possible.

The Kremlin spokesman believes that Trump's statement about wanting to restore relations with Russia deserves at least some attention. Regarding the upcoming U.S. president's promise to end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours, Peskov commented that it is "an exaggeration."

According to The Washington Post, Ukraine was reportedly aware of the conversation between Putin and Trump and did not object to that call.

The Biden administration plans to approve a $6 billion arms aid package for Ukraine before Trump returns to the White House. It is important to remember that the elected president is not in favor of continuing support for Zelensky.

From a distance, Putin initially did not plan to congratulate Trump, something he did immediately after Volodymyr Zelensky's victory on November 5.

Finally, Putin congratulated Trump on his victory and described him as a brave man, referring to his attitude following the Pennsylvania attack. He also expressed his willingness to maintain contacts in the future.
