The Cuban singer El Taiger will rest alongside his mother in a chapel at the Colón Cemetery in Havana, after being purchased and prepared by his manager, Teresa Padrón, as a safe and permanent resting place for both of them.
On Instagram, Padrón explained that the chapel, which is being painted and renovated so that El Taiger and his mother have a safe place at all times, will be donated to the family.
"Thank you, dear God, for so much. Without you, nothing; with you, everything," Padrón stated, also pointing out that a sculpture will be made in his honor.
In a comment, the representative of El Taiger expressed her intention for the chapel to also house the remains of the artist's father: “I am in talks with the Carvajal family, I hope for that.”
Padrón had previously announced his intention to seek a chapel in the Colón Cemetery for the eternal resting place of El Taiger and his mother, according to a post shared on Facebook by the profile Cuba Actu.
One month after the singer's passing, family members of the artist visited his grave in Colón Cemetery in Havana.
The emotional moment when the reggaeton artist's cousin placed flowers on his grave was shared by Teresa Padrón, the artist's manager, on her social media.
"I know how hard it is for you to stand in front of that grave, I know everything you've been through, how much you love your cousin, and how much you miss him," it reads in the description of the post.
In October, family, friends, fans, and colleagues of El Taiger accompanied his ashes to the Colón Cemetery, where the reggaeton artist rests.
As the artist would have wanted, dozens of Cubans bid farewell to “La Tranka” by singing his music in unison, from “El Sano” and “Habla Matador” to “Marca Mandarina” and “El Punto,” two of his latest hits.
El Taiger's youngest daughter walked at the front of the entire procession, hand in hand with Teresa Padrón, the artist's representative.
At the moment of placing the ashes in their resting place, those present signaled their farewell by placing their hands upon it, while others raised their hands to the sky. Flowers that many had brought were placed on top of the tombstone.
