Teresa Padrón, manager of El Taiger, believes it is "impossible" for Damián Valdez-Galloso to load the body of the reggaeton artist into the car by himself, considering it weighed 280 pounds and was over six feet tall; therefore, she is certain that he received help from someone.
"It is impossible that he could have done it alone; it is impossible, someone must have helped him," Teresa stated emphatically in a lengthy interview with journalist Mario Vallejo, where she addressed various topics of interest related to the case.
"I have been told that Damián's wife, Ana, is involved in this, and that she was the one who helped him put the body in the car," Teresa added.
"There's more to this than what's being said. The police may have their reasons for not bringing her out, but I know that at some point, she will have to come to light. Whether it's her who was involved or someone else, the truth will need to emerge," he insisted.
The reggaeton artist's manager believes that the person who helped Damian should also face charges, as that individual is equally guilty for not saving José Manuel Carbajal's life by calling 911.
"Why has that person never come to light? If she has nothing to hide, why doesn't she show herself? Where is that woman?" she questioned.
At another point in the interview, Teresa mentioned the effort to have the prosecution change Damian's charge to first-degree murder, which would carry a harsher sentence.
"We are currently fighting to have his charge changed from second degree to first degree. It is also very important to us that all the individuals who were in any way involved in the situation that day come to light and that the law addresses their actions as well, because that is what is fair and what Jose deserves," he stated.
When questioned about how the police treated her in the immediate moments after the shooting, she said that upon arriving at the hospital, they took her to a private room and asked her about the reggaeton artist, her belongings, her phone, and codes, and that she answered everything she knew.
Regarding Damian, Teresa explained that they showed him a photo in the hospital, and he said he did not recognize it. However, when they mentioned the name, he said he knew that El Taiger had a friend by that name.
Regarding the future of El Taiger's children, he expressed his desire for everything to be resolved in the best possible way, ensuring that they receive what they deserve, which rightfully belongs to their father.
"I know that the mothers are united. I’m actually not involved in that. I preferred not to get involved in that part, not because I'm unwilling to help—I'm always ready to assist—but to give them their space so that the court and the lawyers can resolve that among themselves," she noted.
Teresa says that everything she has given has come from the heart, from her personal funds, and that she is not asking to be reimbursed for anything.
"What I hope for is that they come together and that everything regarding the music gets resolved, and that their daughters are well, and that they receive what they deserve from their father," he stated
Excited, Teresa said that for her, El Taiger was “an immense person,” someone she always told that he didn’t realize how much he was worth.
He recounted that on a flight to Houston, shortly before the incident that claimed his life, he urged him to change his life.
"You don't realize how blessed you are, and God has given you opportunities to change your life. You can't keep taking it lightly; you have to listen to God, you need to change your life," Teresa would have said to El Taiger, to which he would have responded with a hug and another question: "Do you really believe that, girl?"
“El Taiger was a very important person to me because despite all his craziness and antics, he had a heart that was too big,” Teresa added, visibly moved, admitting that she misses him a lot because she used to talk to him all the time.
"I can tell you that right now his absence is deeply felt. Too much. It hurts me a lot, and I want him to be in a place where he deserves to be, where people will always recognize how great he was and that justice is served," he concluded.
The chief of the Miami Police, Manuel A. Morales, provided new details on Wednesday regarding the murder case of Cuban reggaeton artist José Manuel Carbajal, known as El Taiger, and stated that they have sufficient evidence to secure a guilty verdict against the alleged killer.
In an appearance on the program "Encuentro Virtual" with journalist Gloria Ordaz from Telemundo 51, Morales stated that both the police and the Prosecutor's Office possess all the evidence needed for the accused, Damian Valdez-Galloso, to be found guilty, and he denied that the accumulated evidence could support a claim that the accused fired in self-defense.
Regarding the request to elevate the charges to First Degree Murder, the official emphasized that authorities have not yet found evidence that the crime was premeditated, and that the existing evidence so far supports the charge of Second Degree Murder.
"The evidence is strong, both in video and physical form, and there are two people involved in the incident," Morales explained, addressing the suspicions held by Teresa.
