The solidarity project "Aliento de Vida" announced on Monday the launch of a sale of handmade soaps in the United States, aiming to raise funds to support children and young people with cerebral palsy in Cuba.
Yankiel Fernández, the leader of the initiative, stated on Facebook that the goal is to cover shipping costs and acquire the necessary resources for the project's development, which is aimed at improving their quality of life.
The soaps, available both in-person and online, have been designed as part of a collective effort to create a positive impact in this vulnerable community, emphasized Fernández.
Additionally, he called for solidarity, urging people to share the information, even if they cannot contribute directly through a purchase.
In one of the images shared by the activist, it is evident that the sale of artisanal soaps is part of the Be One project, which aims to "alleviate the shortages faced by sick and vulnerable individuals in Cuba."
Furthermore, the image clarifies that “for every two soaps you purchase, we guarantee the delivery of one pound of medications and food to those who need it most.”
In recent years, "Aliento de Vida" has undertaken significant efforts to support children and young people with cerebral palsy, as well as their families.
Last October, the charity project sought financial assistance to continue its program supporting children and young people with cerebral palsy, an initiative that began four years ago.
The activist and project leader, Fernández, explained on Facebook that they were helping 12 children, but announced that "we will soon be assisting 15 in Havana and 20 in Pinar del Río."
At other times, the activist has acknowledged that, thanks to the solidarity of people in the United States, "Aliento de Vida" has provided humanitarian assistance to families of children and adolescents with cerebral palsy.
