Cuban who just arrived in the USA responds to criticism over viral TikTok video: "There's already enough work to get annoyed."

A Cuban woman in Houston sparks debate on TikTok after a video about emigration and the situation in Cuba.

A Cuban resident in Houston, Texas, sparked a wave of reactions on TikTok after posting a video in which she shared the phrase: "When you receive a call from Cuba and the second phrase is (this is bad, there is no...) and you've only been in the United States for 4 months."

The content quickly generated thousands of both positive and negative comments, bringing to the forefront the topic of expectations for those who emigrate versus the reality of those who remain in Cuba.

Faced with the avalanche of messages, the young Cuban (@dorita2612) decided to respond to some comments, particularly addressing one that said: "Even if I don't have enough for myself, I would never dedicate this song to my family. It seems we've forgotten what it was like when we were in Cuba and what we thought of those outside." The young woman's response was clear:

"I didn't do it for my family; thank God the majority are here, and the few I have left in Cuba don't ask me for anything. I send them support without them asking. Another thing is not to take what you see on social media personally if it doesn't have your name on it. So, gentlemen, what one posts on social media might relate to a family member or a stranger who inspired you to include it in your video. Don't take things personally to avoid issues."

In her explanation, the Cuban made it clear that her intention in creating the video was to provoke reactions and generate conversation about this topic, which is so prevalent in the lives of emigrants. "I wanted to provoke people to write to me and watch my videos, and I succeeded, thanks to all the comments, both positive and negative."

Finally, he reflected on the purpose of social media and encouraged his followers not to take personal content too seriously: "What many people did was laugh because social media is for that, for entertainment; work is for getting annoyed."
