The Goddess undergoes gastric sleeve surgery in Miami

The Goddess underwent gastric sleeve surgery in Miami to reduce her stomach and manage her weight. She shared her experience to support those considering a similar procedure.

On Friday, a photo of La Diosa in a hospital bed raised significant concern among her fans on social media. The artist eventually confirmed that she underwent gastric sleeve surgery to reduce her stomach.

In statements to Papel Encara this Saturday, the singer said that she was feeling a bit better and that the day of the surgery was the hardest due to the pain.

"This is a gastric sleeve procedure designed to reduce the stomach. Once the stomach is smaller, you eat less, just a little like a bird. You lose a significant amount of weight and can maintain a varied diet, but in smaller portions," the artist explained.

"All my followers know that I was on the soup diet, broth, and all that stuff, and honestly, I managed to lose quite a bit of weight. But here's the problem: when you manage to lose weight and your stomach is still large, you end up wanting to eat more, and you quickly gain the pounds back. The goal was to prevent that from happening again. In short, I will not be overweight anymore. I believe I will reach a size S; the doctor told me I would lose about 50 pounds," she said with a smile.

The Goddess said she recorded the entire procedure to share it with her followers, especially so that anyone in a similar situation knows how to do it.

The singer admitted that she did feel afraid, especially for her children, and even questioned whether it was worth going through this, but she felt secure in the hands of the doctor who treated her.

Gastric sleeve surgery, or vertical gastrectomy, is a procedure in which a portion of the stomach is removed and a narrow tube is formed with the remainder, resulting in a smaller stomach that produces fewer hormones regulating the person's appetite.
