Cuban reggaeton artist Oniel Bebeshito opened up about the impact of the death of his colleague and friend El Taiger during an interview on the program El Gordo y La Flaca on the Univisión network.
Accompanied by his wife, influencer Rachel Arderi, the singer discussed his career, his upcoming concert in Miami, and the pain caused by the loss of the fellow urban artist.
Bebeshito reported that he learned of the tragic news while at a gas station, where he was informed that El Taiger's body had been found shot in a car near Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
"I found out at a gas station and texted him because I thought it was a lie, but he never replied," she recalled.
The reggaeton artist shared details about the friendship they shared, stating that the death of José, as he referred to the late singer, was a heavy blow for both him and the entire Cuban community.
"Not only I, but all Cubans had a lot of love and appreciation for José, and what has happened has been really overwhelming. All I ask for is justice for José."
During the interview, Oniel also shared that he did not manage to meet with El Taiger in the United States, despite their plans to have a meal at a restaurant and for him to meet his wife, Rachel Arderi, and his newborn daughter, Mia.
"He told me to first enjoy my daughter and my wife, but that the first meal should be with him," Bebeshito said sadly as he recalled that moment.
The artist, who is getting ready to give his first concert in Miami after two months in the United States, expressed that the memory of El Taiger will always be present in his heart and in his music.
The death of El Taiger has deeply shocked the Cuban urban music scene and its followers, who continue to demand justice to unravel the events surrounding the crime.
