Nicaragua inaugurated the Fidel Castro Moringa Development Center, a project dedicated to the research, production, and promotion of this plant that the late Cuban dictator praised as a solution for health, agriculture, and livestock.

Spanning 110 hectares, the center focuses on seed production, research, and silvopastoral systems, while also emphasizing the supposed almost magical benefits of moringa, reported the news portal Sputnik on its Telegram profile.

According to Nadir Reyes, a researcher and professor at the National Agrarian University, the plant is "key" to food sovereignty and a future of exports, a statement that echoes the old claims of the late Cuban dictator.

Reyes emphasized that the center aims to make moringa an essential element of national food strategies, something that Fidel Castro envisioned at the time as an almost messianic project.

The images shared by Sputnik on its Telegram channel showcase various products made from moringa, including soaps, multinutritional blocks, and vitamin syrups, among others.

However, Nicaragua has at least chosen to institutionalize the enthusiasm for moringa with a research center, rather than using it as a rhetorical element that Fidel Castro championed in his delusions turned into "Reflections."

In addition to the Fidel Castro Moringa Development Center, the government of Nicaragua announced the relaunch of the Commander Fidel Castro Moringa Development Program, according to the state media outlet El 19 Digital.

This program, managed by the National Agrarian University (UNA), will complement the center's activities with a focus on the production of nutritional and medicinal supplements, as well as the extraction of oils and other derived products.

Located on a farm at kilometer 69 of the Managua-León highway, the program aims to promote scientific research to maximize the potential of moringa as a food and commercial resource.

Among its objectives are to strengthen the country's food security and to promote entrepreneurship based on the products of this plant.

The Fidel Castro Moringa Development Center, according to its own website, is dedicated to promoting national and international research related to moringa, highlighting its importance for human and animal health and nutrition.

These studies aim to contribute to scientific knowledge about this plant, while the center also focuses on the production and practical use of moringa for various purposes.

Additionally, the center provides scientific articles and opinion pieces crafted by experts, as well as audiovisual content that highlights the importance of moringa and its supposed impact on health and agriculture, in line with the ideas promoted by Fidel Castro.

The new facility is a continuation of the Comandante Fidel Castro Ruz Technology Development Center, which was inaugurated on August 13, 2017, coinciding with the anniversary of the birth of the late Cuban dictator.
