One of the individuals injured in the traffic accident that occurred at Loma de Rejondones, in the municipality of Báguanos, has died after undergoing surgery at the Lucía Íñiguez Landín surgical clinical hospital in Holguín.
Leopoldo Castillo Torres, who had a pelvic fracture and diaphragmatic injury, underwent surgery at the hospital, but unfortunately, he passed away in the recovery room, reported the local newspaper Ahora!.
The accident, recorded around seven in the morning on Friday, involved a truck from the Geological Mining Services Company (Explomat) and a truck from the Transportation and Mechanization Services Company (Tranzmec) of Camagüey.
At the scene of the incident, Dennis Jaime Sánchez, a resident of Castillito, Mayarí, lost his life while traveling in the Explomat truck.

Eight-year-old Daliannis Samantha Lugo, a resident of Barajagua in the municipality of Cueto, was treated at the Octavio de la Concepción de la Pedraja pediatric hospital.
His recovery has been positive, and he remains under medical observation in the Neurology ward, in good spirits and without complications.
Authorities continue to investigate the causes of the accident on one of the most dangerous stretches of the Holguín-Moa road.
