A bus from Miguel Díaz-Canel's personal security collided with a motorcycle on a street in Santiago de Cuba during the leader's visit to the province on Monday.
According to independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada, the caravan accompanying and safeguarding the leader during his travels was on 8th Street in the Vista Alegre neighborhood when it collided with a motorcycle.
"This street provides access to the high-comfort residences of Cuban leaders in 'Personal Security,' a place very similar to 'Punto Cero' in Havana," he specified on his Facebook wall.
Witnesses reported that a Transtur bus collided with the motorcyclist and the passenger, but they did not suffer serious injuries, "just a few scratches."
"The Transtur bus was coming with the security guards; you know that the guy... was here and collided with the motorist who was going perfectly on his right of way. They took the stop sign. Thank God nothing happened," revealed a person who was at the scene and witnessed the incident.
"Both of them from the motorcycle are without injuries, although the engine was completely turned over," he added.
Díaz-Canel traveled on Monday to the city of Santiago, where he visited the Palace of Pioneers and a student center.
