Mireddys González made a request for confidentiality regarding the hearing of the lawsuit initiated against her by her still-husband Daddy Yankee; however, a judge in Puerto Rico ruled that it should be broadcast live.
Judge Anthony Cuevas Ramos agreed to the request from the Puerto Rican media outlet El Vocero for the live streaming of the hearing, which will take place next Friday at 9:00 a.m. at the San Juan Court, as well as any subsequent hearings during this legal process.
The motion from the defense representing Mireddys González states that "the evidence includes confidential information about business strategies, corporate revenues, and sensitive operational decisions that, if disclosed, could jeopardize both the financial stability of the corporations and the essential business relationships necessary for their operation," reports El Vocero.
According to this request, "allowing access to this information during an open public hearing would not only irreparably harm the reputation and professional development of the entities, but it would also jeopardize the integrity of the corporate entity and its competitiveness in the market."
On the contrary, the legal team representing Daddy Yankee states that the case at hand "is of a corporate nature and is related to the development of the plaintiff's artistic and professional career," hence there are no grounds to maintain confidentiality.
"The plaintiff and promoter of this action has no objections to uncovering the truth of the disputed facts. This is especially true given that the hearing scheduled by the Court does not include the presentation of evidence or testimonies from the parties. Additionally, the financial information of the entities, as is the case with any incorporated entity, is available to the public on the Department of State's portal," emphasized attorney Carlos Díaz Olivo, who represents the reggaeton artist.
Last week, it was announced that Daddy Yankee had sued his wife Mireddys González and her sister Ayeicha González for making irregular transfers amounting to 100 million dollars from the corporate bank accounts of El Cartel Records and Los Cangris to their personal accounts.
Although the artist was able to prevent the transfers from being finalized, the lawsuit is still proceeding.
