Cuban ingenuity: Man adapts a tank to his motorcycle to carry more fuel

The invention caused a stir among the other drivers waiting in line to refuel.

Amid the serious economic crisis in Cuba, a young driver showcased his ingenuity by modifying a tank on his motorcycle to carry more fuel.

A video shared in the Facebook group "Rodando Por Cuba" showcases a motorist's idea that amazed other drivers waiting in line to refuel.

Thanks to their initiative and talent, the driver will be able to stay on the streets longer, as the fuel supply is limited to the vehicle's tank capacity.

This is not the first invention of its kind by a Cuban motorist to overcome fuel shortages.

In April of last year, a motorcycle became famous in Matanzas for having a "bump": a bike whose owner enlarged the fuel tank with what appeared to be a small gas canister.

"Not even NASA can do anything about it; I’m naming it The Tank with a Bump," joked Facebook user Kimbe Marquez, who shared the image.

"The topic of gasoline in Cuba has led Cubans to come up with ways to secure a bit more than what is allocated when the precious and scarce fuel becomes available," he commented.
