A young Cuban experienced an emotional moment during her visit to the Wax Museum in New York when she came face to face with the figure of the late dictator Fidel Castro. Unable to contain her indignation, the user @yanisermanresa decided to record the encounter with "the one who ruined your life." This moment quickly went viral on social media.
In the video, the Cuban woman candidly expressed what many feel after years of economic and social struggles: "My moment has come. Face to face. Oil worker, flip-flop lover, it’s your fault that I’m here, struggling with the rent of my life, paying it at an exorbitant price."
Reactions on social media quickly poured in, filled with humor and empathy for the young woman. Some users commented:
"I thought I was going to give him a cookie."
"It fell short but was decent."
"You forgot the cookieeees! I swear I'll cover the repair costs!!!!!!"
However, her journey through the museum didn’t end there. After this outpouring, she approached the sculpture of Donald Trump and, in a more pleading tone, asked for help with her situation in the country: "Daddy, I am i-220A with a cut-off date; please, do me a little miracle and grant me parole. Lift the cut-off, give me residency so I can become a citizen."
The video continues to accumulate views and comments, becoming a reflection of the sentiments of a segment of the Cuban diaspora.
What would you have said in front of the statues?
