We regularly review this policy to ensure it remains up to date. Whenever we make any modifications, we publish the most recent version here. When we make significant changes, we will inform you the next time you access our services or through another communication channel.
This policy has been updated in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, of April 27, regarding the protection of individuals with respect to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data (hereinafter, GDPR).

The fact that you are currently reading this page indicates that privacy is as important to you as it is to us. Let us explain just how seriously we take this matter.
2 - What personal data do we collect?
Currently, CiberCuba does not collect personal data from its users.
Previously, www.cibercuba.com offered the option to register, as it operated like a social network where Cubans from around the world, along with non-Cubans, could connect and exchange ideas and opinions on various topics related to Cuba or those that were controversial at the time. Additionally, it featured a highly popular SMS sending service to Cuba, which allowed users to stay connected with their loved ones for free.
Personal data was collected in two ways, both through registration. The first method was logging in via Facebook (social network), and the other was using a registration form.
3 - This is the information we can have about a user:
First and last name: if you filled them out during registration or if you have them on Facebook and logged in through the social network.
Profile picture: if the user has uploaded it or if they have it on Facebook and chose this registration option.
Email: In both cases, it is a checkbox for future actions.
Sex
Date of birth: if you have registered through the social network.
4 - What is the purpose of having this data?
Daily delivery of a summary with the most relevant news from our website, if requested at the time of registration on www.cibercuba.com.
5 - How long do we retain your data?
We retain your data for one year from your last access to www.cibercuba.com. If the user opted to receive the daily news summary and has not unsubscribed, we understand that they remain interested in our service; therefore, they continue to be a user of www.cibercuba.com and are not subject to the data deletion process.
6 - Who do we share your personal data with?
www.cibercuba.com does not disclose your data to third parties at any time for any purpose, except when mandated by law (such as a request from a court or police mediation). We only share your data with applications that enable us to keep you informed about current events in Cuba. Currently, these platforms are Mailchimp and Manychat, and www.cibercuba.com has signed contracts with each of them, requiring compliance with European standards regarding data protection in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
In addition, to measure the use of its service, www.cibercuba.com employs third-party services that use cookies for these measurements. These cookies cannot be associated or linked to an individual; they are associated with a device or browser. For more information, please see our cookie policy.
7 - How do we ensure the security of your personal data?
CiberCuba uses organizational, technical, and administrative measures to protect personal data within our organization. However, if you believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please inform us immediately using any of the methods described in section 1.
Additionally, Malecón Media Group SL, as the entity responsible for protecting your personal data, maintains an up-to-date record of activities that logs any security incidents that may occur and informs the Spanish Data Protection Agency of any incidents that could compromise the security of your data. We also notify affected individuals in the event that access to their personal data may be compromised.
8 - Users' Rights.
You have the right to request a copy of your personal data, to correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to obtain the personal data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format. Additionally, you may object to the processing of your personal data and withdraw your consent at any time using the channels mentioned in section 1.
The user has the right to file a complaint or claim if they believe they have not been properly attended to by the Data Protection Officer of Malecón Media Group SL (privacidad@cibercuba.com) and with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.agpd.es).
Malecón Media Group SL will respond to requests within one month of receiving the request. This period may be extended by an additional two months if necessary, taking into account the complexity and the number of requests. The Data Protection Officer will inform the interested party of any such extensions within one month of receiving the request, indicating the reasons for the delay.
