We review this policy regularly to ensure it remains up to date. Whenever we make any modifications, we publish the most recent version here. When we make any significant changes, we will inform you the next time you access our services or through another communication channel.

This policy has been updated in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of April 27, concerning the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data (hereinafter, GDPR).

When we use the term "Personal Data" in our Privacy Policy, we mean information that is related to you and allows us to identify you.

The fact that you are reading this page right now indicates that privacy is as important to you as it is to us. Let us explain how seriously we take this matter.

2 - What personal data do we collect?

Currently, CiberCuba does not collect personal data from its users.

Previously, www.cibercuba.com offered the option to register as it functioned as a social network where Cubans from around the world, as well as non-Cubans, interacted and exchanged ideas and opinions on all topics related to Cuba or those that were controversial at the time. It also had a very popular SMS sending service to Cuba among the website's users, as it allowed them to stay connected with their loved ones for free.

Personal data was collected in two ways, both through registration. The first was to log in via Facebook (social network), and the other was through a registration form.

3 - These are the data we can have from a user:

First and last name: if you filled them out in the registration or if you have them on Facebook and logged in through the social network.

Profile photo: if the user uploaded it or if they have it on Facebook and chose this registration method.

Email: In both cases, it is a checkbox for future actions.

Sex

Date of birth: if you have registered through the social network.

4 - What purpose do we have for this data?

1- Daily delivery of a summary with the most relevant news from our website, if you requested it when you registered at www.cibercuba.com.

5 - How long do we retain your data?

We retain your data for one year from your last access to www.cibercuba.com. If the user selected the option to receive the daily news summary and has not unsubscribed from it, we understand that they remain interested in our service, which means they continue to be a user of www.cibercuba.com and are not included in the data deletion process.

6 - Who do we share your personal data with?

www.cibercuba.com does not share your data with third parties at any time for any purpose, except for legal obligations (such as requests from a court or police mediation). We only share your data with the applications that allow us to keep you informed at all times about current events in Cuba. These platforms are currently Mailchimp and Manychat, and www.cibercuba.com has signed separate contracts with each of them in which we require compliance with European standards on data protection in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Additionally, to measure the usage of its service, www.cibercuba.com uses third-party services that utilize cookies for these measurements. Under no circumstances can these cookies be associated or linked to an individual; they are linked to a device or browser. For more information, please consult our cookie policy.

7 - How do we ensure the security of your personal data?

www.cibercuba.com uses organizational, technical, and administrative measures to protect personal data within our organization. However, if you believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please let us know immediately by following any of the methods described in section 1.

Moreover, Malecón Media Group SL, as the entity responsible for protecting your personal data, maintains an up-to-date record of activities that logs any security incidents that may occur and informs the Spanish Data Protection Agency of any incidents that could compromise the security of your data. Simultaneously, we also notify the affected individuals in the event that access to their personal data is compromised.

8 - User Rights.

You have the right to request a copy of your personal data, to correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to obtain the personal data you have provided us in a structured, machine-readable format. Furthermore, you can object to the processing of your personal data and withdraw your consent at any time using the channels mentioned in section 1.

The user has the right to file a complaint or claim if they believe they have not been properly attended to by the Data Protection Officer of Malecón Media Group SL (privacidad@cibercuba.com) and before the Spanish Agency for Data Protection (www.agpd.es).
