Anthony Santos, artistically known as Romeo Santos, is an American singer-songwriter of Puerto Rican (father) and Dominican (mother) descent, born on July 21, 1981, in the Bronx, New York

Santos is globally renowned for his interpretation of Dominican bachata, which he has fused with other rhythms such as hip hop and rhythm and blues (an American genre derived from blues, jazz, and gospel). He is considered the king of Bachata.

In 1993, Santos formed the Dominican music group Aventura in New York. Their song "Obsesión," written by him and part of the album "We Broke the Rules" from 2002, reached the top of the charts in countries like Italy, where it held the number one position for 16 consecutive weeks. In America and the United States, it also reached number 10 and remained on the charts for several months.

Since 2011, Romeo has embarked on his solo career. He has recorded four studio albums under the record label Sony Music Latin. The first three, Fórmula: Vol. 1 (2012), Fórmula: Vol. 2 (2014), and Golden (2017), have garnered him numerous awards and recognitions, including four Guinness World Records, such as the tropical solo artist with the highest sales, the tropical solo artist with the most weeks at number one on the Billboard charts, and the tropical album with the most weeks at number one on Billboard's year-end charts.

The fourth record was thanks to his song "Propuesta indecente," which earned him the record for the most consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. The song remained on the chart for 125 consecutive weeks, from August 10, 2013, to December 26, 2015.

In April 2019, "Aullando," a song performed together with Puerto Ricans Wisin and Yandel, which is featured on the album  "Campeones del Pueblo" by the latter two, reached Triple Platinum and Gold status in Mexico. The author of the song is the Cuban Descemer Bueno.

Among her most popular collaborations are, Ella y yo with Don Omar, Frío, Frío with Juan Luis Guerra, Yo también with Marc Anthony, Hey Ma with Pitbull and Britney Spears, Margarita with Carlos Santana, Loco with Enrique Iglesias, and more recently La mejor versión de mi with Natti Natasha, among others.

In 2019, Santos shared a video on his Instagram profile featuring a snippet of Celia Cruz with the group he was a member of, the Fania All-Stars. He wrote, "This serves as an example that our Latin music has been breaking barriers for decades, even in non-Spanish-speaking markets. Here is our queen Celia Cruz in Africa, alongside the Fania All Star."

In cinema, Santos was the voice of Early in Angry Birds in 2016 and had a cameo in Fast and Furious 7 in 2015.
