Music has incredible power. Anyone who has been to see their favorite band in concert or heard a good performance will know that thrilling feeling, when you get goosebumps and get chills from excitement. The American singer Aretha Franklin has that power and she demonstrated it after leaving an entire audience on the verge of tears. Even the president of his country, Barack Obama, succumbed to the magic of his music.
It all happened on December 6, 2015 at an event called Kennedy Center Honors, in which different artists are awarded. Carole King, a pianist and composer, was one of the honorees, and Franklin, 73, stepped up to the microphone and performed a stunning rendition of “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” which King wrote for her in 1967. The song was so powerful that all the famous guests at this elegant gala ended up applauding standing up... it's not for nothing that they call Franklin the queen of soul.
