Last Wednesday in Havana, the governments of Cuba and Vietnam signed an agreement for the creation of a joint company that will allow both governments to carry out economic and scientific-technical collaboration.
The first steps in economic collaboration between both countries will include projects in areas such as construction, health and tourism that will materialize in the production of sanitary furniture, ceramic wall coverings and flooring in the Cuban plants of Santa Cruz del Norte and San José de las Lajas, in the province of Mayabeque.
This collaboration agreement occurs within the framework of the visit of the president of Vietnam, Tran Dai Quang, to the Island to strengthen bilateral ties between both countries. In this sense, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba, Rodrigo Malmierca, stated that the primary objective is to bring economic relations between Vietnam and Cuba "to the same level as the political ones."
In addition to these construction projects The Cuban state group Islazul S.A and the Vietnamese company Viglacera will collaborate in the best of several hotel complexes on the Island while the Finlay Vaccine Institute and the DAVAC corporation will work to develop a new vaccine against typhoid fever.
The governments of Raúl Castro and Tran Dai Quang maintain a good diplomatic relationship that has led to collaboration between both countries on several occasions in matters such as health advice, scientific collaboration or humanitarian aid, among others.
