Yurisbel Gracial from Matanzas is named MVP in the Japan Series

Yurisbel Gracial from Matanzas completed an impressive season in theJapan Professional League and contributed to the Fukuoka Softbank championship by being named themost valuable Player from the Japan Series.

Gracial hit a three-run homer at the Tokyo Dome and Softbank won the 10th title in its history with Alfredo Despaigne, Liván Moinelo and Ariel Miranda.

His average in the Japanese baseball final was .375 with three home runs and six RBIs.

Heutility 34 years old and one of the most brilliant cases of leaps in quality in baseball on the island, he became the second Latino to be chosen as the most valuable in a final on the strong Asian circuit.

Previously, the Cuban Orestes Destrade had achieved it in 1990.

Alfredo Despaigne finished with three RBIs and a .250 average, while Liván Moinelo had a 0.00 ERA after three appearances.
