Pinar del Río boxer Lázaro Álvarez will inaugurate the Tamers of Cuba season

The three-time universal monarch will face the experienced Mexican Sergio “Dandy” Puente.

Hepremiere of the Tamers of Cuba in the professional rings during the nascent season will be run by the three-time world championLazaro Alvarez, who will fight in the Mexican city of San Pedro Garza on January 27.

31 years old, the lightweight from Pinar del Ríowill be measured in an eight-round duel with local Sergio “Dandy” Puente, a 35-year-old veteran with more than a decade on the rental wheels.

Herecord de Puente has 28 victories and 15 defeats -including a dozen celebrations by knockout-, and treasures the experience of crossing blows against world champions such as Jhonny González and Miguel “Micky” Román. However, it is worth paying attention thatHe has 13 defeats in his last 14 outings.

The Cuban, meanwhile, has wonhis three lawsuits rented.

Recently, a total of 15 Cuban boxers appeared in the update of the World Boxing Council (WBC) rankings, including two elements of the Domadores squad, the two-time Olympic champions Arlen López and Julio César La Cruz.

The insular franchise has achieved 15 successes in 16 professional fightssince he began to venture at that level in May 2022.
