The president of United States,Joe Biden, and the former presidentDonald Trump They mocked the technical failures that occurred during the presentation of the presidential candidacy ofRon DeSantis.
On Wednesday, when theFlorida governor launched his campaign for the country's presidency in 2024, there were several problems on the Twitter Spaces platform, where the Republican leader planned to make the announcement through a live interview.
"This link does work," Biden wrote on his Twitter account, where he linked to a donation page for his own re-election campaign.
For his part, Trump shared several publications on his Truth Social platform where he showed his joy at the failure of his main rival for the Republican candidacy.
"Wow. The release of DeSanctus on Twitter it's a disaster! His entire campaign will be a disaster. Look!" he wrote, before uploading a video in which he is seen entering a place full of people during theannouncement of his candidacy last November.
In another message, the former president tweeted: "My red button is bigger, better, stronger and it's working (really!), yours isn't!", in reference to a pun he once had with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.
DeSantis, 44, decided to present his campaign accompanied by the magnate and owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, but the conversation between the two was plagued by technical problems that affected the audio, which cut again and again for several seconds in the that you couldn't hear anyone.
"I am running for president of the United States to lead our great American comeback," said the politician, shortly after posting his first campaign video on his official Twitter account.
The continuous failures forced the broadcast to be suspended and restarted several times, creating chaos and uncertainty among the more than 500,000 connected followers, which ultimately led to a loss of audience.
At one point, tech investor David Sacks, who moderated the dialogue, was heard saying that the high number of listeners was "melting the servers."
Musk had enthusiastically anticipated the launch of DeSantis' presidential campaign as an unprecedented event.
"I will interview Ron DeSantis, and he has a big announcement to make. And it will be the first time that something like this happens on social networks and with questions and answers in real time, without a script," he had said at an event organized by the newspaperThe Wall Street Journal.
