A Cuban was detained with 30,000 euros without declaring at the Cancun International Airport,local media reported.
The arrest occurred in Terminal 2, when elements of the Mexican National Guard boarded a passenger from Havana.
After the money was detected in X-rays, the officers asked the Cuban for permission to inspect his fanny pack, he accepted, and inside it several wads of bills of different denominations were discovered.
In total, 30 thousand euros were found in 50, 100 and 200 bills. The Cuban traveler was made available to the authorities to continue the investigations.
In September of last year, three Cubans were detained at the Tapachula international airport, in southern Mexico,in possession of around $50,200 without declaring it to the corresponding authorities.
The Cubans intended to take an Aeroméxico flight to the border city of Tijuana, in Baja California, on their way to the United States.
