The Cuban regime blamed Israel this Tuesday for the bombing against the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza that has left at least600 dead and hundreds of injured.

Although the Israeli government denied its responsibility in the attack and showed evidence that it was a rocket launched by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad organization that supposedly fell short and fell at the medical center, Havana classified it as a "fact criminal" of Israel and condemned it in the "strongest terms.

"Cuba condemns in the strongest terms the bombing perpetrated by Israel against the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza that has caused hundreds of deaths and injuries. We demand an immediate ceasefire and an end to these flagrant violations of International Humanitarian Law," he posted on Governor Miguel Díaz-Canel Twitter.

Likewise, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez said: "We condemn in the strongest terms the criminal bombing by Israel of Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza, which has caused at least 600 deaths and hundreds of injuries. This reprehensible act constitutes a flagrant violation of International Humanitarian Law." .

The Cuban regime has historically been a defender of what it calls "the Palestinian cause."

Although several countries initially blamed Israel for the attack, an initial investigation by that country's armed forces showed a video suggesting that the explosion at the hospital was caused by the failed launch of a Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket. according to Mark Regev, senior advisor to the Israeli prime minister.

The official told theBBC that the Israeli authorities are studying exactly what happened, because "their military would not deliberately attack a hospital," and instead there is a history of failures of this type by Palestinian militants, he recalled.

"My information, which I just received from the highest authority... is that everything indicates that they were not Israeli orders, that it was rather a Hamas rocket that fell short," Regev stressed.

"From past conflicts with Gaza terrorists, we know that an average of 33% of the rockets fired at us fall short andcaen and Gaza"he recalled.

"Based on the analysis of the operational systems of the Israel Defense Forces, the enemy fired a wave of rockets towards Israel that passed by the vicinity of the hospital, at the time of impact. According to intelligence information, from various sources that we have, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad organization is responsible for the failed launch that hit the hospital," said Israeli Defense spokesman Daniel Hagari.

Al Ahli is one of 22 hospitals that remain open in the northern Gaza Strip to meet the humanitarian needs of the Palestinian population. A few hours ago a rocket fell on the facility and caused hundreds of deaths.

The hospital operates under the direction of the Episcopal diocese of Jerusalem and was already hit by several Israeli rockets on October 14, according to a statement from this organization of the Protestant Church.

Several nations rejected this deadly attack, including Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Turkey, Canada and the European Union.
