With a prolific career in Cuban radio and television, actress Ileana Cordobés breathed her last on Monday at the age of 80, and her passage into immortality left behind a wealth of works that marked the development of culture on the island.
A talented artist, Cordobés directed and acted for several decades, indicates the profile on Facebook of CubaActores, which describes them as a distinguished figure in the media of the Caribbean nation, capable of enriching it with their incomparable talent.
"As an actress and director, she knew how to turn every project she was involved in into pure art," reads in the words of condolences, while stating that "her legacy will endure in every work that had the privilege of having her participation."
Awarded the ACTUAR 2018 Prize for her lifetime work, the artist in her eighties (February 11, 1944 - May 20, 2024) was recognized for her childlike voices and familiar presence on television screens in adventures and serial programs.
Coworkers and followers of his artistic work mourned his departure in various publications.
