The statement clarified that Duquesne led the ophthalmology department at the Arnaldo Milián Castro Hospital for many years, "a specialty to which he dedicated his life with profound commitment."
Furthermore, the doctor excelled in both medical assistance and training generations of professionals. She participated in various medical missions and contributed to the education of professionals in other countries.
Duquesne had a deep passion for medicine and his specialty, which inspired his daughter to follow in his footsteps, becoming an excellent specialist herself, according to the report.
"The community of the University of Medical Sciences of Villa Clara deeply mourns saying farewell to Professor Duquesne, a paradigm of teaching and ophthalmology in Villa Clara," he emphasized.
A person named José Guillermo Martínez Urbay expressed his sorrow on Facebook for the passing of the healer, noting that she had been living in Havana for some time.
"I extend my embrace to the heavens, along with my gratitude, respect, and affection for her," he said with deep sorrow as he offered his condolences to the doctor’s daughter, granddaughter, and husband.
