The body of the Russian tourist who died in Cuba and was mistakenly sent to Canada at the end of March has still not returned to his homeland, where his family is waiting for him.
In an interview with RT, the wife of the deceased, named Tatiana, stated that "my husband is 99% in Canada," and that they have been "promised that by the end of May his body will be sent home to Chelyabinsk."
The woman announced that she plans to conduct an expert examination to determine the cause of death, as Tatiana suspects that her husband died a violent death.
"The body swap was not accidental, but deliberate," asserts the woman, who believes that there should be traces of the murder in her husband's body, and that is why they sent her a "bald Canadian."
After the death of her husband Ilya Neroev, 51, on March 22 in Cuba, Tatiana received – three weeks later – the body of Canadian Faraj Allah Jarjour, 60, who had also passed away on the Caribbean island around the same time.
The Canadian family received the body of the Russian, and the Russian family received the body of the Canadian.
Neroev traveled to Cuba on March 20 with Tatiana. On March 22, they were relaxing on the beach when the man went up to the room and then did not return.
The woman learned later that he had died, but she only saw the covered body and observed the head. Three days later, she returned to Russia.
The man's daughter stated that they waited three weeks for the body to arrive in Russia. However, they were given the body of a Canadian, but since they were unable to identify it, it was buried by the family, believing it to be Neroev.
It was Faraj Allah Jarjour's family who noticed that the body that arrived from Cuba was not the correct one, and they began to investigate.
The Cuban regime, through its foreign ministry, apologized to both families for the unfortunate error, which has not yet been rectified.
