Considered as a significant Russian ambition in Havana, the interest of entrepreneurs from the Eurasian nation in building an immense park in the style of the well-known Zaryadye in Moscow, in the Cuban capital.

The idea of the Russians is to make a smaller copy of the immense Moscow park that spans over 50,000 square meters, linking the tourist center of Moscow with the Kitay-Gorod business district.

"Now we are working with our colleagues so that our investors build something like Zaryadye Park in Havana, as in Moscow," said Nikita Stasishin, Russian Deputy Minister of Construction to the TASS agency.

According to the official, they offered the Cuban side the idea of "building something that becomes a jewel of Havana."

Investors could be the Moscow companies directly involved in the construction of the Zaryadye Park, assessed the deputy minister in an interview granted on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum held between June 5 and 8.

The intention is to build a smaller park but with a local style, although the location in the Cuban capital to carry it out was not specified.

However, the projection is that it could be carried out within a period of three years after determining the source and financing mechanism, added Stasishin.

The Cuban delegation to the St. Petersburg Economic Forum was led by Vice Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz. Also in attendance were the Minister of Transport, Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila; Ambassador Julio Garmendía Peña; the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (Mincex), Carlos Luis Jorge Méndez; the Director of Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ileana Núñez Mordoche, and the Director of Trade Policy with this region at Mincex, Inalvis Bonachea González.

According to a note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the event, the delegation from the Island held meetings with official and business counterparts linked to the main topics on the bilateral agenda and the agreements adopted to achieve the effective participation of the Russian Federation in Cuba's National Economic and Social Development Plan until 2030.

The urban park Zaryadye is located on the banks of the Moskva River, very close to Red Square. It brings together four types of Russian biomes organized in terraces from northeast to southwest: tundra, steppe, forest, and wetland.

The paths that cross the park extend along a walkway that rises above the road and flies over the river, offering a new perspective from which to rediscover the city.
