A suspected pickpocket who stole a phone from a Cuban woman at P6 in Havana has been arrested

The alleged thief was apprehended at the La Lechera stop in Old Havana.

An alleged pickpocket was arrested this Monday after stealing a cellphone from a woman on a P6 route bus in Old Havana.

The arrest took place at the La Lechera stop in Old Havana, according to the Facebook profile "El Cubano Fiel," which is affiliated with the Ministry of the Interior.

The alleged thief was apprehended by the police after stealing a mobile phone from the Cuban amidst the usual chaos that arises on the buses in the Island, due to the scarcity of transportation and the challenges faced by Cubans in their commutes.

According to this source, "they searched him and found the device. When they inquired about the owner, that’s when the woman realized her phone had been stolen."

The version from El Cubano Fiel adds that "the woman got off the P6, thanked the officers for recovering her phone and apprehending the pickpocket."

A week ago, a man was caught on surveillance camera at the exact moment he entered a café in Santiago de Cuba and stole a cellphone.

The video clearly shows a middle-aged man picking up what appears to be a mobile phone from a table in a café.

The person who shared the post on social media included images that clearly show the face of the alleged thief.

Another Cuban, residing in the city of Matanzas, was accused of committing several thefts on different days, which included electronic equipment and a musical instrument.

On Monday, residents captured an alleged thief in the San Pedrito neighborhood of Santiago de Cuba; however, they had to release him because the police never arrived.
