José Manuel Carvajal Zaldivar, known in the reggaeton world as El Taiger, was arrested in the early hours of Friday for driving with an expired license and for committing another offense.
Records from the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center (TGKCC) indicate that the arrest occurred at 3:10 a.m. Carvajal Zaldivar, 36 years old, faces multiple charges, including possession of cocaine and driving with a suspended license.
The data, following the announcement of the arrest warrant, indicates that the authorities have set a bail of at least $2,500 for the Cuban reggaeton artist to be released.
El Taiger could be comfortably at home right now, but at some point he will have to appear before the court.
The artist has gained notoriety in the international music scene with several hits in the reggaeton genre. The most recent is "Marca Mandarina," where he collaborates with another musician from the island. This could be the song of the summer and has already surpassed 11 million views on YouTube.
Despite his success in music, El Taiger faces a challenging legal situation in the United States as he was arrested in April for similar reasons: possession of substances and alcohol.
The arrest on Friday has caused a significant stir among his followers on social media, where many are expressing concern about the artist's situation.
In his Instagram stories, El Tiger shared a strange message for his fans this morning. It features a video of a rooster calmly strolling on the mouth of a crocodile, implying that it is unafraid of danger.
