The Cuban-American congresswoman María Elvira Salazar traveled to Buenos Aires, where she had a meeting with Argentine president Javier Milei.
"Grateful to President Javier Milei for receiving me today at the Casa Rosada in Buenos Aires. I congratulated him for giving a better future to Argentina and becoming a moral reference for the region," wrote the legislator on her profile on X.
Along with his words, he posted a photo of the meeting where Milei is seen in one of his typical and extravagant poses.
Salazar has shown his sympathy for Milei on several occasions, even traveling to Buenos Aires previously to attend the president's inauguration in December of last year.
"I feel very proud to represent you in this historic inauguration of Milei. Congratulations to the Argentinians who managed to defeat Socialism! LONG LIVE FREEDOM!" posted at that time the representative of district 27 of Florida.
In May of this year, the Republican legislator described the Argentine president as "a moral reference for the Western hemisphere" and requested in the U.S. Congress that Argentina be included in the Alliance for Economic Prosperity in the Americas (APEP, according to its English initials).
"Today, there is no president in Latin America with a more pro-freedom agenda than Javier Milei. He is working to reverse years of economic mistakes in a country with tremendous but wasted potential," he stated.
