The Cuban activist Diasniurka Salcedo is seeking help for a child who needs a liver transplant in Cuba.
The child is named Lucian Roger Alba González, he is two years old and weighs only eight kilograms due to his ailments and his delicate state of health.
"She has spent all that time of her life in the hospital," Diasniurka said on her Facebook wall.
The minor suffers from chronic malnutrition, has hypoplasia (incomplete development) of the thymus (an organ located in the chest), and has benign recurrent familial cholestasis (a stoppage of bile flow that causes the skin to turn yellow).
According to the activist, the little one needs many medications to stabilize while waiting for the operation. These are: Benadryl (diphenhydramine) in liquid form, calamine lotion, and hydrocortisone cream.
"Please, help with whatever you can, he is at the children's hospital in Santa Clara and his mother does not have money to take him to Havana. Anyone who wishes can ask in private or call the mother directly, who is named Elizabeth González, at the phone number +53 51381333," he specified.
Diasniurka Salcedo arrived in the United States last March, two months after leaving Cuba following threats from the dictatorship to imprison her.
From Miami, he continues to help people in need in his homeland.
She was one of those who collaborated with the case of Amanda Lemus Ortiz, the two-year-old girl who, like Lucian Roger, needed a liver transplant. The Cuban health system had abandoned her to her fate.
Thanks to the campaign organized by activist Lara Crofs and the solidarity of Cubans from various parts of the world, Amanda was successfully operated on in Spain and is now a happy girl.
