How much money do you need to live in Belgium? This Cuban explains it all.

Get ready because it's no small thing.

A Cuban in Belgium has started to explain how much money you need to live in that European country, and although he tries to break it all down, what a mess! According to what he says in his video, the total monthly cost of living there can reach up to 2,700 euros, a figure that leaves many surprised!

First, he starts by talking about the rent, which can range from 600 to 1,000 euros a month, depending on the area. In his case, he pays 970 euros, but he shares it with his partner, which makes it more manageable. He then mentions the expenses for electricity and water, which vary according to consumption, but could be around 50 euros for electricity and between 30 and 40 euros for water.

It also mentions that the internet in Belgium is expensive. He pays 72 euros per month, while mobile phone packages range between 12 and 20 euros. On the other hand, heating fuel is another significant expense: paying for oil can cost up to 2,800 euros for 2,000 liters, and that’s only every two years!

And of course, mandatory insurance couldn't be missing, such as life and health insurance, in addition to fire insurance, which can cost around 7 euros per month, depending on what you choose to insure. On top of this is the transportation, as he and his partner have two cars, whose insurance costs between 400 and 600 euros a year, plus another 250 euros monthly for one of the cars they are paying off in installments.

Finally, they spend about 600 euros a month on food, and although they try to save by going to supermarkets like Lidl and Colruyt, the cost of living remains high. Between shopping, outings, and other expenses, living in Belgium costs this Cuban between 2,600 and 2,700 euros a month.

The best part is that it makes clear that not everyone spends the same, but according to him, that is the figure for leading a more or less normal life there. What do you think? Would you move to Belgium with those numbers in mind?

What do you think?
