Cuban in Spain shares advice for newcomers: "Don't work for your own countrymen."

After spending more than 10 years in the country, where she arrived at the age of 22, she shares the advice she wishes someone had given her.

A young Cuban who has lived in Spain for over a decade shared three tips on TikTok for newcomers to the country that she would have appreciated receiving.

In her advice, the third one "the best of them and the most problematic," Sulay (@sulay._2020) talked about what, in her opinion, should be taken into account when starting a new life in the European country.

In her video, the young woman emphasized the importance of educating oneself and not wasting time on activities that do not generate long-term benefits.

"Start studying, start preparing yourself. That investment you are going to make, don't focus on the money you invest in it because it will help you in the future to have better job opportunities," he commented.

In her reflection, which continues to accumulate views, the young woman emphasized the importance of saving and setting aside money from the moment one arrives in Spain, putting aside unnecessary purchases for later, as it can be useful for investing in a house or a car, which will open more doors in the future.

Her third piece of advice, and the most problematic according to her, is to avoid working for other Cubans. Sulay shared her negative experience working for compatriots, pointing out that some become "selfish" and "abusive" towards their own fellow citizens, which leads her to give this advice to avoid disappointments.

The video has generated a series of comments from other emigrants who have identified with her words: "I totally agree with you, I am Cuban and I arrived and started studying and thank God I already have my degree, thank you for the advice," to which Sulay replied: "It's the best... I started working and the years flew by."

"Very good advice"; "I have been in Spain for 30 years and I fully agree, I experienced it firsthand"; "Your words are very true"; "You are absolutely right, you have spoken a great truth"; "Likewise, I had bitter experiences with our fellow countrymen, that’s why I am closed off in my world"; "Everything you say is true"; "Very much right, blessings"; "Pure reality"; "Good advice," commented others.

And you, what would you say from your experience to someone who has just arrived in another country? Would you share these tips or give different ones?

What do you think?
