The star Cuban major leaguer José "Candelita" Iglesias, current player for the New York Mets, surprised again off the diamond by releasing the remix of his successful single "OMG" in collaboration with Cuban-American rapper Pitbull and Colombian Silvestre Dangond.
Iglesias, currently immersed in the postseason of Major League Baseball (MLB), collaborated with renowned artists to give a new twist to the song that reached number one on the Billboard Latino chart.
Pitbull presented the collaboration on his different platforms, including a video on YouTube.
For a few months now, "Candelita" has managed to have her music resonate in the stadiums, especially at Citi Field, where the song has become the anthem for every home run by the Mets, one of the four teams still alive on the road to the World Series.
Martí Noticias recalled that this remix is not the first collaboration of the prominent athlete, whose sports record shows 12 seasons in MLB. At the beginning of 2024, he released the single "No voy a volver," together with his compatriot Lenier Mesa.
It is not the first Cuban baseball player involved in the music industry. The mentioned media recalled that in 2020, Yoan Moncada of the White Sox released his song "Desastre personal" together with Lenier and "El Chacal."
