Cuban in the USA will fulfill her late grandmother's dream by publishing her book written on the island: "She could never see a free Cuba."

Cuban woman seeks to fulfill her late grandmother's dream by publishing in the USA a book she wrote on the island.

A Cuban woman in the United States has touched hearts by sharing an emotional family story. The user @susy_xcaret posted a video on the social network to celebrate her eight years of life in the United States, in which she showed a book that, although it appears to be a file at first glance, is one of her most treasured possessions.

"The book was written by my grandmother when my aunt, her eldest daughter, turned 15. They traveled all over Cuba to learn about the country," she recounted with emotion. However, the work never saw the light due to issues with the Cuban government, as her grandfather, the author's husband, was a political prisoner.

The proud granddaughter showed a part of the manuscript, quoting a fragment that says: “I’m walking to our house again, because why should I repeat the work of finding transportation again, that’s left to the imagination.” Despite her grandmother’s efforts to share this writing, she was never able to publish her book.

User @susy_xcaret shared that her grandmother passed away 22 years ago when she was 15, and that she never got to see a free Cuba nor was she able to leave the country to fulfill her dream of publishing her writings. However, despite the obstacles, her granddaughter is determined to honor her legacy and fulfill that wish from exile.

"If God wills it, I will publish it in 2025," she expressed emotionally, explaining that the manuscript has more than 200 pages, all typed, so she will first need to digitize it for publication.

This testimony reflects the young woman's deep commitment to preserving her family's memory and rescuing a part of Cuba's history that remains alive in the new generations.
