Damián Valdez-Galloso, the person of interest in the El Taiger case, was arrested this Friday in New York.
According to information provided by journalist Daniel Benítez on his YouTube channel, just a few days before the one-month mark of the homicide of Cuban reggaeton artist Damián Valdez-Galloso, he is now in police custody in that city.
Authorities are expected to provide details about the arrest in the coming hours, as it is only known that this individual is the person the Miami police were seeking to clarify the events surrounding this homicide.
"At this time, my sources are not explaining to me or providing details on what charges he might be detained under (...) This is very important to the investigation because evidently the authorities believe and have no doubt that he is the person who can provide all the details and help solve the case involving El Taiger (...) Currently, he is not being accused of murder; he is a person of interest," Benítez emphasized.
Damián Valdéz-Galloso, born on December 5, 1974, and residing in Hialeah, Miami, is a convicted sex offender who was required to check in with the police regularly, a duty he had failed to fulfill, the journalist clarifies.
